Abstract
Administration of Co prevents the "vinquish" or " pining disease," lowered fertility, and heavy infestation with intestinal worms observed in hill sheep in parts of Scotland. The "swayback" disease of lambs can be prevented by admn. of Cu to the pregnant ewes but the lead content of the soil appears also to be a factor. The incidence of "bent leg" can be reduced by admn. of Ca and cod liver oil, although serum Ca and P values in affected animals are normal. The etiology of "croitich" or "creutuch" is obscure but Ca and P metabolism appear to be involved. Keywords
