Abstract
The morphology of pachitene and metaphase I chromosomes has been presented for Diplosoma listerianum, and the peculiar outline of the anaphase I and early pachitene chromosomes has been described. The haploid number n=15, has been established conclusively. In our squash preparations, among spermatocytes, highly specialized cells and numerous degenerating cells were found. A simple method for comparing the relative amount of chromosomal DNA within Ascidiacea has been proposed. Keywords
