Abstract
Exophiala jeanselmei belongs to the genus Phaeoannellomyces. It is a dematiaceous fungus, recognized by its black, usually mucoid yeastlike colonies unlike those of Sporothrix schenckii, which are initially cream-colored turning to brown. If the cultures are left for >2 weeks at 37°C, these colonies will be covered with short aerial hyphae and become mousy gray to olive gray [1].Keywords
