Abstract
This work considers the case of tunneling through a one-dimensional barrier including a number of potential-energy wells which model impurity and/or defect states. The cases of periodic arrays of wells and of completely random systems are treated with and without externally applied fields. Special attention is devoted to the occurrence of resonances whose temperature and time dependence are discussed. Keywords
