Abstract
In the past 5 yr 1168 tubal sterilizations were performed. Of these, 1012 were performed by dividing the tube by diathermy through the laparoscope. Since the 1st cases, and with increasing experience, complications were infrequent, at the most a slight bleeding from the mesosalpinx. So far there were 10 failures, probably due to lack of experience. In every failure it was found at re-examination that the tube was not divided, at least at 1 side. The method is quick and simple. The patient suffers little incovenience, has a very small scar and is in the hospital only a short time. It is used in post-partum cases, but is not suitable for patients who have had several abdominal operations. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
