Abstract
The dielectric response of a number of homogeneously aligned FLC cells has been investigated. Several relaxation processes exhibiting behaviour with different relaxation times are found for the first time. These are identified with the structure of the smectic layers in the cell and the parameters of the FLC mixtures. The assignment of these processes is based on a combination of electro-optic and dielectric investigations. Keywords
