Abstract
In the presence of transitional lumbosacral segmentation, the lumbosacral intervertebral disc is significantly narrower than its counterpart in non-transitional spines. Even in spines with no transitional features, the lumbosacral disc is significantly narrower than discs at higher levels. This narrowing does not imply disc degeneration. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
