Elastic and Inelastic Proton Scattering fromCa40and Two-Particle, One-Hole States inSc41

Abstract
The elastic and inelastic scattering of protons by Ca40 were studied at bombarding energies from 4.8 to 6.2 MeV. 60 resonances were identified. The spins of most of them and their partial widths for decay to the ground state and to the first four excited states in Ca40 were determined. Levels in Sc41 having configurations with a large two-particle, one-hole component were identified and compared with similar levels in Ca41.
