Abstract
The psychological factors in the causation of asthma are discussed. The asthmatic child has been found to have a special personality type, characterized by intelligence which is above the average. He is irritable, aggressive, quick to respond, over-anxious, insecure, and lacks confidence in himself. The author advises that psychological treatment supplement physical treatment. In very difficult cases, psychiatric help may be necessary.Keywords
