Treatment of Hypertensive Disease

Abstract
When using low doses of barbiturates, prolonged sleep gives beneficial results. To normalize the electrolyte metabolism, a potassium diet was administered (Na, 0.33-0.66 g, and K, 4.46-3.77 g). The hypotensive effect is seen when the elimination of chlorides is reduced to 2.5-2.0 g. Sometimes the beneficial effect is rendered by systematic administration of air inhalation with an increased O2 content (40-50%). Dlbazole (2 benzyl-benzimidazole chloralhydrate) proved effective as it has a high hypotensive action and decreases the strain of the heart muscle.
