Abstract
Turricephalic skulls (those with a pronounced inflection posteriorly-situated in the sagittal curve) are not a distinct type. They are not necessarily hypsicephalic. They are not caused by premature obliteration of the coronal suture, or by premature ossification of the spheno-occipital synchondrosis. The length of the basis cranii is normal, though the antero-posterior diam. of the skull is short. The basic phenomenon in the condition is kyphosis of the basis cranii.
