Surface areas of the body of 15 adults were determined by actual measurements using a combination of tape, surface integrator and mould methods. Results obtained differed from the surface areas calculated with the weight height formula of DuBois and DuBois. Based on the actual measurements of the surface area of the body a new constant, 74.66, has been obtained which if substituted in the weight height equation of DuBois and DuBois, surface areas calculated would show least variation with the surface area of the body actually measured. Body surface area was also determined in 15 adults by using the linear formula of DuBois and DuBois and the results obtained were com-pared with the area actually measured. Great variations in the two results were observed. New constants for the different parts of the body have been suggested for the determination of the surface of the body using linear formula.
