Abstract
The efficiency of various methods of dispersal of propagules, in terms of survival value is discussed and evidence is produced to suggest that broadcast wind-dispersal is the most wasteful of propagules, dispersal by water probably less so, while dispersal by censer and ballistic mechanisms and especially by animals are probably all far less indiscriminate. Keywords
