Abstract
The patients had arteriosclerosis with several arterial occlusion in the legs. The supine position was used. The oxygen tension of the skin of the feet was studied polarographically, and the changes in oxygen tension resulting from 20 minute changes in position were analyzed. In the 7 inch foot-down position there was a mean increase of oxygen tension of 13%. In the 7 inch foot-up position there was a mean decrease of oxygen tension of 22%. In normals the changes in oxygen tension resulting from equal changes in position were much less. Keywords
