Abstract
In a series of 26 patients with strokes 13 had deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the leg, demonstrated by fibrinogen scanning. In 10 patients the thrombosis was in the paralysed leg but the degree of paralysis was unrelated to the tendency to develop DVT, which usually occurred about the third day. Leg oedema in 10 patients was unrelated to the DVT.Keywords
