The politics of Cypriot migration to Britain

Abstract
This article explores some of the key features of the political and social responses of Cypriot migration to Britain. Taking as its starting point the historical background to the arrival of Cypriot migrants in the earlier part of this century the article then looks at the changing terms of official debate about this group of migrants and the complex forms of policy responses to their arrival. It illustrates some of the issues that need to be explored further in providing a fuller analysis of the politics of Cypriot migration in the post‐1945 period.
