Abstract
A simple qualitative model of the cardiac Purkinje fiber is introduced for the purpose of numerical simulation of experiments on conduction of the cardiac impulse. Well known approximation techniques are used to illustrate the behavior of the model membrane in the cases of space clamp and propagation of traveling pulses in a uniform infinite fiber. The results of the numerical simulations are then presented, and shown to be comparable to experiment. Keywords
