This chapter summarizes the development, validation, and interpretation of the Comrey Personality Scales (Comrey, 1970a, 1970b, 1980, 1993, 1994), an inventory of factored personality traits. The Comrey Personality Scales, hereafter abbreviated as the CPS, were designed to measure the variables that make up a taxonomy of personality traits developed over a period of years by the author with the aid of many of his students.
