Abstract
Classical Coulomb-type configurations of Yang-Mills fields coupled to external sources (charges) are described and discussed. They are shown to be stable against small classical fluctuations in the fields if the Yang-Mills coupling is sufficiently small. In developing the stability analysis, massless charged scalar fields in the presence of a weak Coulomb potential are also shown to be stable to small field fluctuations. Keywords
