The area of intersection of n equal circular disks

Abstract
An analytical expression is given for the area of intersection of three equal (circular) disks as a function of the distances. Then it is shown that the intersection of n disks can always be reduced to intersections of less than four disks in a definite manner. Some physical applications are also discussed.Keywords
