Abstract
This paper deals with the observation and identification of phonon frequencies resulting from the low temperature phase transitions in K2XY6 crystals. By means of a simple lattice dynamical model, the vibrational Raman and IR data available in the literature and obtained here have been analyzed. The model used is an extension of one previously used to explain the vibronic spectra of several related compounds. Keywords
