Abstract
The (01&1bar;2) twin of hexagonal close packed metals has been studied by high-resolution electron microscopy in zinc. The atomic configuration of the boundary is compared to different candidate structures. Interfacial defects are characterized and the Burgers vectors of the dislocations have been determined. Dislocations that accommodate the angular deviation and twinning dislocations, which are responsible for the twin growth, are pointed out in this study. Keywords
