Abstract
The MW of flagellins from 29 bacterial strains from 11 genera [Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Arizona sp., Bacillus spp., Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., Chromobacterium violaceum, Serratia marcescens, Alcaligenes faecalis, Rhodospirillum rubrum and Erwinia carotovora] were investigated using the technique of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate. The MW range from 28,600 for B. sphaericus to 63,200 for 1 strain of E. coli. Variation in MW was observed between genera and between different species of a genus and different strains of a species. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
