Abstract
In this study the personal and social adjustment of high school boys of high athletic achievement was compared with the adjustment of boys of low athletic achievement. It was found that students ranking high in athletic achievement demonstrated a significantly greater degree of personal and social adjustment than did students ranking low in athletic achievement. Because of this significant relationship it was concluded that it is important for all boys, instead of a specialized few, to develop motor ability. It is recommended, therefore, that greater emphasis be placed on intramural athletic activities rather than upon interscholastic activities which neglect the majority of boys in favor of a selected few.
