Abstract
The problem considered is that of the average response of a photoelectric cell, when illuminated with flickered light. The response of the cell is assumed to be subject to short-period fatigue and recovery. The following points are discussed : (1) the variation of average response with sector speed, (2) the relation between the existence of short-period fatigue in a cell and the obedience of the cell to Talbot's law, (3) the form of the steady response—steady illumination characteristic for a cell obeying Talbot's law. Keywords
