Abstract
A case of chronic porphyria of 14 yrs. duration in a 44 yr. old woman is reported. Outstanding features included deep pigmentation of the skin, marked wasting of the extremities and atrophy of all muscles with foot drop on the left, absence of the radial, abdominal, knee and ankle reflexes, diminished perception to pinprick over the distribution of the right ulnar nerve and an increased perception over the course of the left peroneal nerve, nausea and vomiting. Coproporphyrin III was isolated from the urine in significant amts., 407 y as compared to the normal value of 100.Keywords
