Abstract
A systematic study of the effects of polymer modification on entanglement density and mechanical properties leads to guidelines for changing the entanglement density in high-Tg amorphous polymers and understanding of the role of entanglement density in embrittlement during thermal aging. A strict correlation between solution properties and plateau modulus is observed, indicating that the chain conformation in solution is very similar to that in the polymer melt and glassy state. Keywords
