Decay ofEu157,Eu158, andEu159

Abstract
The radiations of Eu157, Eu158, and Eu159 were studied with β- and γ-scintillation spectroemeters and a lithium-drifted germanium detector. The energies and intensities of the major β groups and γ rays were determined. On the basis of γγ coincidence measurements, the radiations of Eu157 and Eu158 were fitted to partial decay schemes. The total β-decay energies are 1.40±0.15 MeV for Eu157, 3.400.10+0.20 MeV for Eu158, and 2.400.10+0.20 MeV for Eu159. The mass assignments for 15.15-h Eu157, 45.7-min Eu158, and 17.9-min Eu159 were confirmed.
