Abstract
On the basis of morphological and physiological studies, including analyses of cellulolytic activity, the thalassic deuteromycete genus Zalerion, an abundant taxon in northern and temperate marine areas, is erected. Included in this genus are four heretofore undescribed species. Different colonial morphologies and levels of cellulolytic activity, the latter characterized on CMC 50 T and Walseth cellulose, are evident among these taxa. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
