Abstract
The effects of injections of antagonists of muscarinic and nicotinic receptors on self-stimulation of the prefrontal cortex in the rat were studied. The results of this investigation suggest that acetylcholine is involved in self-stimulation of the prefrontal cortex through activation of muscarinic receptors, and also suggest a possible interaction between acetylcholine and dopamine in mediating self-stimulation of this area of the brain.This publication has 10 references indexed in Scilit:
