Abstract
The metabolism of calcium and strontium in adults is reviewed. Values are proposed for intake, absorption and excretion of calcium and strontium by a standard adult on an average diet similar to that in the United Kingdom. Fractional transfer values given in the current ICRP (1959) Recommendations are compared with those derived from the models for strontium and calcium metabolism. Keywords
