Observations on Avian Aplastic Anemia in Florida

Abstract

Observations and procedures were conducted for 12 months in an effort to detect or classify the agent causing aplastic anemia in Florida poultry. Seventy-four cases were observed involving White Leghorn flocks totaling 241,000 chickens. This investigation revealed no clue to the causative agent. A treatment for aplastic anemia is described.
