UNTERSUCHUNGEN ÜBER DEN ZEITLICHEN VERLAUF DER 6- UND 16α-HYDROXYLIERUNG VON ÖSTROGENEN DURCH RATTENLEBERSCHNITTE

Abstract
17β-Oestradiol and oestrone were incubated with rat liver slices for various times, and the following metabolites were estimated quantitatively: 17β-oestradiol, 6-hydroxyoestrone, 6-hydroxy-17β-oestradiol and oestriol. From the maxima of the time curves it is concluded that the 6-hydroxy-lase of rat liver attacks both 17β-oestradiol and oestrone, whereas the 16α-hydroxylase acts only on 17β-oestradiol.
