Prognostische Hinweise im Rahmen der Selektion von Cochlearimplantatpatienten*

Abstract
Die bekannten Selektionskriterien für die Auswahl von Cochlear-Implantat-Anwärtern erlauben keine prognostischen Aussagen über den zu erwartenden Erfolg; hingegen ergibt der Vergleich einiger postoperativer Testbefunde (Schwelle, Dynamikverhalten, TDL und Dauer der Ertaubung) mit den Ergebnissen von 76 Implantatpatienten eine klare Korrelation. Weiters zeigen die postoperativen und präoperativen Testbefunde eine weitgehende Übereinstimmung, so dass damit eine präoperative prognostische Aussage möglich scheint, die in einer retrospektiven Studie bestätigt wird. The common selection criteria for cochlear implant patients do not allow any prognostic indication on the final result. On the other hand, some postoperative data (threshold, TDL, dynamic range, duration of deafness) corresponds clearly with the results, some of them also correspond with the preoperative data. Preoperative TDL, dynamic range as well as duration of deafness can therefore be used as suitable prognostic indicators.
