Abstract
Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol is a risk factor for atherosclerosis. It accumulates in vessel walls,1 and LDL that has been modified by oxidation may contribute to the genesis of atherosclerosis.2 Accordingly, the prevention of the oxidation of LDL by the use of antioxidant substances has attracted attention.3 Ubiquinone has been suggested as a physiologically important lipid-soluble antioxidant4; it is found in LDL fractions in plasma.5Keywords
