Abstract
The effect of this drug was studied in patients during thalomotomy and mesencephalotomy operations. Needle electrodes were inserted into the dorsomedial nucleus, the lateral nucleus of the thalamus and/or the hypothalamus and the tectum of the mid-brain by means of the stereotaxic technique. Simultaneously the eeg (scalp electrodes in the frontal and occipital region), the ecg. and the electropharyngogram were recorded. The records showed that tolserol has a definite effect upon the electrical discharges of the human cerebrum; the most pronounced changes were found in the electrical activity of the hypothalamus and of the midbrain. Keywords
