Abstract
Novobiocin, an effective inhibitor of DNA replicaion in Escherichia coli, is shown to have no effect on the ATP-dependent DNA repair carried out by toluenized cells after ultraviolet irradiation. Therefore novobiocin can be considered a selective inhibitor of replicative DNA synthesis in vitro. Keywords
