Abstract
Chlorpromazine appreciably counteracted tourniquet trauma induced hemoconcentration and death when given either before or after placement of hind leg ligatures, but not after removal of these ligatures. Maximal counteraction was secured by administering the drug before or immediately after placement of the ligatures. Chlorpromazine was effective in appreciably counteracting heat trauma induced hemoconcentration and death only if given prior to traumatization. Keywords
