Abstract
This paper presents a new stable scheme for the discrete adaptive observer based on Popov's hyperstability theorem. Our adaptive observer enables us to simultaneously estimate the unknown parameters and the inaccessible state variables of the single-input single-output linear plant expressed in the discrete type of observable canonical form, using only input-output. measurements. Our scheme can be easily implemented on a digital computer with simple algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by the computer simulation carried out for a second-order plant. Keywords
