Abstract
The process of mutual neutralization of alkali positive and halogen negative atomic ions is considered at low energies (0.01 eV–10 keV). The exchange interaction between ionic and covalent states at the diabatic curve‐crossing point is calculated for each alkali–halogen pair using the Landau–Herring method. The neutralization cross sections, as well as the rate constants for these reactions, are calculated. Keywords
