Reduced spline representations for EEG signals

Abstract

EEG data were approximated in a least squares sense by a normalized B-spline system having a prescribed knot sequence. The frequency content of the EEG is preserved in the power spectrum of a splined EEG having substantially fewer knots than sample points.
