Abstract
Drawing upon a three-year case study of teacher initiated innovation, this article challenges the prevailing view that teacher resistance to innovation is pathological. It focuses on the concerns of a group of teachers in relation to their teaching perspectives and shows that 'losers' are a fundamental reality in the process of innovation.
