The location of the troponin binding site on tropomyosin

Abstract
Selective staining with methyl mercury is employed to locate the position of the thiol groups in magnesium paracrystals of α-tropomyosin. This information establishes the absolute orientation of the tropomyosin molecules in the paracrystal and so locates the troponin binding site approximately 14 nm from the carboxyl terminus of the molecule.
