Pairing of holes in a tight-binding model with repulsive Coulomb interactions

Abstract
We consider a tight-binding model with two orbitals per site and purely repulsive Coulomb interactions. It is shown rigorously that in this model there exists a parameter regime in which pairing of hole carriers occurs. It is argued that the model is not totally unrealistic.Keywords
