Abstract
The Cognitive Levels Test and the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test—Revised were administered to 30 freshman college students at a small state college in the mid-Atlantic region. The correlations between the two tests were significant (median = .52; range = .46 to .64). This suggested that the PPVT-R measures a component of the CLT. The mean Peabody score was significantly higher than the Cognitive Levels Test means. Implications of these results were discussed. Keywords
