Abstract
The technique of flowcharting proposed by Rothon [ROT79] (called Rothon diagrams throughout this paper) and the technique of Data Abstraction proposed by Parnas [PAR72a], [PAR72b], [PAR76] are briefly discussed along with other work that is relevant to program design. The outline of a method for utilizing these techniques to produce a top level machine testable design is presented. Keywords
