Abstract
Economic analyses show that purification is often the most important aspect of biomolecule production and processing. This is particularly true of protein processing which, because of the complexity of the starting material, often requires many steps to reach purity levels required for medical and food applications. The separation specialist's task is to develop safe, simple, yet effective processes to achieve high purity products. Keywords
