Abstract
The findings of Ackroyd and Hopkins and others, that in young rats fed without histidine and arginine the formation of purine bodies is related to the histidine supply, are not duplicated in human infants. With a practically histidine- and arginine-free synthetic diet no reduction in the endogenous uric acid was observed, nor any increase of urinary uric acid after ingestion of histidine; nor did the addition of histidine to ordinary milk diet influence uric acid metabolism or other urinary constituents (except total N).This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
