Abstract
General steady-state equivalent circuits are derived for the family of single-phase motors with unequal contrarotating magnetic fields produced by one or two stator windings and/or stator saliency, and rotor torque due to hysteresis and/or eddy- current action. The derivation of an equivalent quadrature motor, first shown by Kron, is extended to the range of motors under consideration. The idealized treatment in the paper permits hysteresis to be included in the linear analysis of single-phase motors. Keywords
