Abstract
A mercury U‐tube manometer applicable to the pressure range from 0 to 800 Torr has been successfully designed. One branch of a 25 mm wide glass U‐tube contains a constant reference height platinumelectrode, and the other branch contains a depth micrometer for measuring the variable column length of mercury in the manometer. The sensitivity was experimentally found to be 0.003 mm throughout the pressure range from 0 to 800 Torr under appropriate conditions. Keywords
